Parade: 10:00 A.M.
2007 is the 99th
presentation of Lake Forest Day brought to you by the Lake Forest American Legion.
The 2007 theme is:
"LAKE FOREST AMERICAN LEGION SALUTES OUR
SCHOOLS AND THEIR HISTORY".
Lake Forest Day is the largest annual celebration in the City and is attended
by thousands of resident and visitors from surrounding communities. We welcome your participation. Why not contact a neighbor
and enter a block or neighborhood float; or enter yourself and/or your family in costume? Enter a commercial float representing
your business, church, school, or enter on behalf of your civic organization.
Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: Children, Church/Schools,
Civic/Fraternal, Commercial, Youth, Neighborhood/Individual and Service along with Most Original, and the prized Commander's
Trophy.
PARADE RULES:
Entries in the parade must
keep moving at the interval started so there will be no gaps. There will be no stopping allowed unless the entry directly
ahead of you has done so. If a gap occurs in front of you please move forward to close the gap. All parade participants must
decorate their float, car, etc. in the theme of the parade or in a patriotic theme.
It is forbidden by law to throw
any article such as candy, favors or any other article from your float, car, etc. due to the danger that someone may run into
the street and be injured. If you wish to pass out a favor, have someone walk along the parade route on each side of the Float
to hand out the articles. Alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited.
Your cooperation makes this
a special community event.
PARTICIPATION:
Only entries
received by July 25th will receive local TV commentary and be eligible for awards. Parade staging information will be available
