Children’s Parade
in Lake Forest The Children’s parade - - stepping off at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, August 5th, and traveling through downtown Lake
Forest. The parade will lead to areas to see the main parade, and then to activities happening afterwards
in West Park that afternoon. The theme for this event is “Creative Kids”. The parade will be
non-motorized, but kids can wear costumes and decorate their bikes, wagons, buggies and scooters (parents are welcome to participate).
Patriotic
themes with red, white and blue are always appropriate, but kids are encouraged to use their creative imaginations in their
decorations and costumes, and the most “creative kids” will be recognized. Awards will be given
in four categories: 2 feet, 2, 3 and 4 wheels. We invite any school or children’s group to also participate in this event, providing you
are not already in the Lake Forest Day Parade. There is no charge, and it should be great fun.
The Children’s Parade (ages 0-preschool) has been a part of Lake Forest tradition, and the American Legion Auxiliary
is extremely happy to sponsor it again this year. So plan to come out and participate! Let’s show our children what it means
to be part of a great community like Lake Forest.
Let’s keep this tradition alive!
