2011 Lake Forest Days Activities

RE: LAKE FOREST DAY 2011

The Lake Forest Day event has been produced by the Lake Forest American Legion Post 264 since 1921.  In 2011, The Legion, supported by the Ladies Auxiliary is proud to present Lake Forest Day.

Lake Forest Days Raffle

Don't Miss Your Chance to WIN $10,000 

SEVEN RAFFLE PRIZES WILL BE AWARDED THIS YEAR - including a Grand Prize of $10,000.  In addition there is a $5,000 cash prize, plus 20 $150 cash prizes.  Tickets are on sale now at the Clockworks in Lake Bluff.  Beginning the weekend of July 22nd, tickets will also be available at select locations around Lake Forest including Sunset Food, Jewel Food, The Fresh Market and Egg Harbor.

The drawing will be held in West Park at 11pm on Wednesday, August 3rd, 2011.  You do not need to be present to win.

The Lake Forest Day 2011 Parade 

The theme for 2011, in honor of the 150th anniversary of Lake Forest is:  “Time To Celebrate Lake Forest’s Sesquicentennial”.

  • The Lake Forest Day Parade begins at 10am on Wednesday, August 3rd. 
  • All Businesses Are Invited to Participate 
  • The parade is open to all at no charge. 
  • To register for participation in the parade – fill out an application and see parade route at www.post264.org
  • Final Day to apply is July 29, 2011

 

CARNIVAL IN WEST PARK

The Lake Forest American Legion Post 264 is once again honored to present the Lake Forest Day Carnival in West Park.  In addition to rides and games, the event will feature tents that offer wonderful food including hamburgers, hotdogs, roasted corn, soft drinks – plus beer and wine.

In order to reduce lines for tickets and unlimited ride bracelets and Mega Passes – this year The Legion will:

<!--[Open the ticket booth beginning Tuesday at 3PM – in advance of the carnival opening at 6PM.

<!--[OFFER A LIMITED NUMBER OF MEGA PASSES GOOD FOR UNLIMTED RIDES BOTH DAYS AT A DISCOUNTED PRICE OF ONLY $50 (REGULAR PRICE IS $60) – AT ST. MARY’S SCHOOL PARKING LOT (ILLINOIS & Oakwood) AT 9AM TUESDAY AUGUST 2ND.


This year’s carnival schedule: 

Tuesday, August 2nd:  Hours are 6pm-10pm

  · Carnival Opens….Family Night 6pm – 10pm

  · Kids ride all evening with the purchase of 1 ride bracelet ($20)

  · Foods stands and beer garden open from 6pm – 10pm

Wednesday, August 3rd:  Hours 11am – 11pm

  · Food stands and beer garden 11am – 11pm
